Commencement
Commencement at Concord Academy marks the end of the academic year, the celebration of the senior class, and the coming together of students, faculty, families, and friends. Annual Commencement events include a luncheon for international students and their families, a dinner for faculty and the senior class and their families, a Baccalaureate service during which graduating seniors share music, stories, and memories with their classmates and families, and Commencement exercises on the Chapel Lawn. Recent Commencement speakers include former Academic Dean Patricia C. Hager; Kathleen Kennedy Townsend; Reverend Professor Peter J. Gomes; Anna Quindlen; Christopher Lydon; Ben Cohen,co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream; Queen Noor of Jordan ’69; Dr. Cornel West; and former Supreme Court Justice Harry A. Blackmun.
This year’s Baccalaureate will take place on Thursday, May 29, 2008 in the Elizabeth B. Hall Chapel. Commencement will take place on Friday, May 30, 2008 on the Chapel Lawn. This year's Commencement speaker will be Dean of Faculty Sandy Stott.

Warm sunny skies shined on Concord Academy’s eighty-fourth commencement today, Friday, June 1, when diplomas were conferred on the eighty-six members of the Class of 2007. Academic Dean Patty Hager, revered by the class and the school community, was the commencement speaker.
