Concord Academy engages its students in a community animated by a love of learning, enriched by a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives, and guided by a covenant of common trust.
Students love CA’s block schedule. Most courses meet three times weekly: twice for eighty minutes and once for forty-five. This gives faculty flexibility to incorporate a broad range of academic tools. Take a peek at some sample schedules of current CA students.
When selecting students, we consider academic achievement; intellectual curiosity; character; maturity; particular talents, hobbies and passions; the capacity for positive relationships with adults; individual expression and open-mindedness; community involvement; and potential for growth.
The Visual Arts Department includes studio courses in two- and three-dimensional fine arts, crafts, and media arts, and courses in art history. Many students initially explore several areas within the department and later focus on one or two to pursue in depth.
At CA, athletics are an integral part of the educational experience. In the Concord Academy tradition, the program is competitive but balanced, demanding but supportive.
Through team, club, and intramural sports, CA
student-athletes develop leadership skills, selfconfidence,
and discipline as they discover the joy of
competition and the benefits of physical fitness.
Diversity is at the core of our mission, and with good reason. It reflects CA’s soul—its culture of inclusion for people of all backgrounds, opinions, and perspectives.
