The Google Teacher Academy has selected CA's Instructional Solutions Architect Iván Nieves to be one of the attendees at its next professional development session in New York City.
Nieves was one of just fifty educators selected for the honor from among hundreds of entrants. Upon completion of the program, Nieves will be a Google Certified Teacher.
“Googlers define collaborations, being able to plumb the experience of some of the most innovative educators today is an amazing opportunity. Today your ability to find answers is as predicated by your personal network of subject matter experts as it is by your facility with a search engine,” says Nieves.
He will join his fellow “Googlers” for a one-day event where “participants get hands-on experience with Google’s products and technologies, learn about innovative instructional strategies, and receive resources to share with colleagues,” according to Google. What makes this event special, according to Nieves, is that it is “for nerds and by nerds.”
As part of the application process Nieves submitted a YouTube video. Last year, Nieves was named one of Apple’s Distinguished Educators.
